Algebra 2 is a significant jump in difficulty. Use the summer to build a launchpad so you can soar, not struggle.

Your #1 Priority: Your Algebra 1 skills must be FLAWLESS. This is non-negotiable.

The Gauntlet: Go back and take your Algebra 1 final exam again. If you don't get a 90% or higher, you've found your summer work.

The Most Important Skill: Factoring. You must be able to factor any trinomial quickly and accurately. This is the key to almost all of Algebra 2.

The Second Most Important Skill: Graphing. Have a deep, intuitive understanding of y=mx+b and the vertex form of a parabola.

The Sneak Preview: Get the Algebra 2 textbook. Read and work through the first chapter on functions and relations.

Understand what a function is, what domain and range are, and function notation (f(x)). This will put you weeks ahead.

This isn't about doing the whole course. It's about ensuring your foundation is made of concrete, not sand.
